Wendy Chou
(LBQA - President)

Director, Internet Marketing
Home Direct, Inc.

Wendy Chou comes to Home Direct, Inc. with over ten years of Internet marketing experience, leading Home Direct's digital marketing efforts on UESHOP.com, United-Barstools.com, and most recently, FurnitureCentral.com.  Home Direct's vision is to bring a wide selection of home furnishing products into homes EVERYWHERE at the best values, with the simplicity of a few mouse clicks.  This is accomplished by working closely with manufacturers to obtain the best pricing, while being entirely focused on online sales therefore eliminating the need for expensive showroom spaces.

Previously, Wendy held technical sales and marketing positions for Internet products and web applications projects at Lucent Technologies and AT&T, providing web-based marketing solutions to manufacturing and wholesaler clients.

Wendy holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Math Computer Science from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).  In 1998, she co-founded the Los Angeles Chapter of the Internet Society (www.isoc-la.org), an organization committed to increasing the accessibility and usefulness of the Internet for the Los Angeles community.   In December of 1999, members of ISOC-LA participated in a global task force initiated by the Presidents Y2K Council (ICC) to track and monitor the transition from 1999 to 2000 on the Internet.

Having grown up in the United States since youth as a Chinese immigrant, Wendy has developed a strong interest for Chinese culture.  She currently serves as the Chairperson of the Long Beach-Qingdao Sister Cities Association (www.lbqa.org), an organization focused on promoting educational, cultural, and business exchanges between the two cities.  The organization's latest project involves knowledge sharing of the management of Olympics Sailing Regatta events with the City of Qingdao in preparation for the 2008 Olympics, based on the City of Long Beachs experience in the 1984 Olympics, with an emphasis on the use of a volunteer force.
