Larry Uyeda
(Chair Emeritus)

Larry Uyeda currently serves as the LBQA treasurer.  He is the President/ Chief Executive Officer for JCA Resources, Inc., a real estate development, international trade and marketing company serving Japan, China, and the Americas. Uyeda states that professionally, ''I want to engage in business activities involving China.  I have great interest in the 'developing areas' of China as opposed to the already successful regions.  I decided over 12 years ago to be a member of the LBQA; it gave me an 'entry' or a reason to get to know China.  Because of the LBQA, I have made some friends in China and the PRC LA Consulate staff, as well as here in California.''

As CEO of JCA Resources, Uyeda directs a full scope of development, finance and acquisition services backed by more than 30 years of real estate development experience.  Beginning his career in the financial industry, working with financial institutions and investors, and expanding his opportunities to office and retail centers, high-rise office buildings, mixed-use developments and hotels, Uyeda gained a reputation for developing properties that worked within each of the communities they served.  Over the past three decades, Uyeda successfully completed more than 2 billion dollars in major developments, with his premiere property being, The Greater Los Angeles World Trade Center in downtown Long Beach, a public/private partnership.  Uyeda expanded JCA's scope in the international trade arena with the formation of the JCA de Mexico offices in Mexico City and Guadalajara and creating a trade division for JCA which handles trade and product marketing between Japan, China and the Americas.

For Uyeda, his personal interest is ''China and of course, Qingdao City, is that being of Japanese ancestry, the root of the Japanese culture is from China.  China's influence on the world is tremendous.  The Chinese civilization was so far ahead of the Western civilization and there is much to learn from a 5,000+ year civilization.  I would love to have a 'working knowledge' of Mandarin, and engage in more direct 'people to people' relationships to China.''
